What Makes Oui’s Knitwear So Special?
The History and Legacy
One of our favourite knitwear labels, Oui clothing was originally founded under the name LaGotte in Munich, Germany in the early 1950s. Starting as a children wear brand, the thriving company is now ran by third generation of Gottesdiener family.
The company saw a move towards ladies fashion in the sixties, then changed its name from LaGotte to Oui following the mantra ‘say yes to life’ in the seventies.
Our Favourite Designs
Nowadays Oui have a wide variety of different jumpers and thin knit tops on offer. This year’s collection definitely seems to have a great piece to suit every wintery occasion. With decades of experience Oui have worked towards becoming knitwear experts. Their designers focus on comfortable fabrics, feminine cuts and contemporary colours within each new piece. Many of their styles feature textured knit patterns or unique finishing details, making Oui truly individual in the knitwear field.
We love style 66919 as it shows the use of two perfectly interwoven patterns. This jumper is the ideal for the colder days in a warm zigzag stitch. It is also beautifully accented with a chunky plait pattern down the front and the arms. The high funnel neckline and extra long sleeves will also help to keep you warm over winter.
Style 65267 is another favourite of ours from Oui’s latest range. This statement jumper is created in a bold and on-trend leopard print pattern, which goes by the colour name ‘camel’. This jumper has also been a bestseller for us with intriguing zip up cowl neckline and box shape.
If you looking for something a little more dressy, Oui also have a range of great day dresses and layering separates as well as their specialist knitwear. Take a look at style 66068 for instance. This maxi dress features a fabulous snakeskin print in cool, understated tones. The dress has an intriguing knot detail under the v neckline and comes unlined in a luxuriously soft stretch fabric.
