10 minutes with Noreen, Owner at Norma James
This year was a milestone year for Norma James, the current owners celebrated 10 years of ownership. Although the shop has been in the village since the 70’s. This was the theme for our entry into the Corbridge Christmas Festival. We thought we’d sign off this celebratory year with 10 minutes with Noreen. The shop is owned by Noreen and her partner in crime, David.
Tea or Coffee?
Very very definitely tea, and just a dab of tea bag will do just fine!
Top of your Christmas list?
Like most busy business owners, time is very much a premium and time to exercise even more so. Which is why I’m hoping I’m on the good list and Santa very kindly brings me a Peloton exercise bike.
Things to look forward to in 2019?
Business wise, I’m very much looking forward to bringing in two new brands for SS19. Oui and Just White. We are starting to see the arrival of the first garments and I love them, really classy and a perfect compliment to our existing brands. The start of new seasons is pretty much a highlight of every year. I love to see new season wear come through from the likes of Joseph Ribkoff, Riana, Gerry Weber, and Decollage.
Morecombe & Wise or Two Ronnie’s?
Too be fair I’d take either, for me Christmas is a family affair and I tend to just go with the flow or what the majority want. If left to me it may have to be Only Fools & Horses.
Heels or Flats?
I love heels for elegance and glamour and love the height you can gain from heels, however for more practical reasons for day wear it would need to be boots for me.
Proudest moment?
Whilst I’m very proud of Norma James I’m also an extremely proud Grandmother, and love babysitting. It’s been a momentous year and we’ve had two new additions to the family, so for them it will be their first Christmas and I will be thrilled to be part of that.
Last word……..
Happy Christmas from all of us at Norma James
